AlieNatiV is Paulo Ventura's bass music project, created in 2005. Before creating KanuaK, Paulo was making music simply as "Kiko" (his nickname in Brazil). For his 5th Psy-Trance album, the project had a new name, but AlieNatiV was put back in the drawer that same year, since Paulo's connection with the Mayan Zodiac, and the symbol representing his birthday being the Rythmic Seed (Kan Uak).
His original interest in music was stimulated from spending a lot of time watching MTV back in the '90s. Amid all the different styles he was exposed to, Metal, Rock, and all the distortion, rhythms, and raw expressions were what mainly held his attention. In the early 2000's he started to create songs. Paulo's initial influences were São Paulo's nightlife and club scene, which consisted mainly of old-school Techno, Trance, and Euro Dance.
From 2003 until he moved to the U.S. in 2009, he was producing exclusively Psy-trance, and in America, there was almost no audience for it. He found ways to adapt and his music was reshaped once more. In Nashville, the artist became a leading force for House music, and in 2019 found bass music at Sound Haven.
Incorporating bass music to his sets wasn't always welcomed by the house crowd, so Paulo saw the perfect opportunity to bring AlieNatiV back to life, and a whole new avenue of expression, while preserving branding and aesthetics of the other projects. Currently the artist works at production manager at The Office in Nashville, where he hosted names such as Zeds Dead, Tape B, Diplo, and others. Performing in local shows, he's shared stage with Caspa, Flux Pavilion, Ivy Lab, and more.
